Shameless self-promotion

Well, hello there gents.
It's been awhile since I posted anything here. So I'm going to post my band, Grimsby's untitled cassette, which is now out of print. This cassette collects the two demos the band recorded in 2006, the "Zombie Proof" Demo, and the "Nine Shocks Terror Is For Poseurs" Demo. We're looking to release a seven inch in the near future, so if you wanna do a split or you run a label and would be interested in putting something out by us, hit us up. Good day, gents. Here we are again. With yet another album that if you don't have it and listen to it regularly, then you are a raging douche. What we have here is the classic split with Japan's S.O.B by Napalm Death. Let me level with you first. I can't get enough of it. Fucking goddamn. I've been on this "classic line-up" Napalm Death kick for awhile now. And by classic line-up, I mean, Lee Dorian, Bill Steer, Mick Harris & Shane Embury. I guess if you wanna be a purist, you could say that Nik Bullen, Justin Broadrick & Mick Harris are the classic line-up. But you'd be wrong. Nik Bullen was the only original member left in the band at that point. So by the time Scum came out, all of the original members had already left. What we're left with is fucking golden. This line-up IS Napalm Death, no fucking doubt about it. Not that Barney-roaring like a lion bullshit, not that Mitch Harris death metal riffing shit, not that Danny Herrera triggered drum bullshit. Real fucking in-your-face grind. This line-up has put out some of the most brutal, fast shit ever. And it has yet to be topped. Sure, these kids these days think they can school people with their new wave of classic grind, and while I'm a fan of some newer grind bands, but really? Come on!? Lucid Fairytale? Stalemate? Cause And Effect? Those songs can not be beaten by any band from any era. So go fuck yourself sideways if you think otherwise, pussy. The S.O.B. split is some of their best material, but it's very short. Short & fucking awesome. Anything else with the classic line-up is ripping as well. Scum B-Side, F.E.T.O., The Curse EP, Mentally Murdered EP, The First Two Peel Sessions and any live bootlegs during this era are the only things by Napalm Death you really ever need. If you like the crusty stuff, check out the early demos and the A-Side of Scum (the F.E.T.O. demo is the SHIT!)

I totally forgot about this coming out. New fucking Autopsy!! Recorded in 2008, fresh off the press, released today. I can't believe this slipped my mind. I'm not very fond of newer Autopsy, but this new EP (really it's released as a "single", from the upcoming reissue of "Severed Survival", which will have these tracks on it as a bonus) harkens back to "Severed Survival" and "Mental Funeral". Needless to say, these two tracks rule.

Insect Warfare - Agoraphobic Nosebleed Split

Here's the final grind offering of Insect Warfare. Their last actual release is going to be the one sided noisecore 7 inch. They didn't phone this one in either. If you've jammed out to their "World Extermination" full length, you know what to expect on this one. Insane drumming, buzzsaw riffs and killer vocals. I'd say in their short time of releasing music, they have definitely raised the bar for other grind bands. In short, another awesome slab from everyone's favorite Texas grinders.

Okay, so this is going to be a bare bones post. Meaning, I have pretty much no info on these releases. So, are you prepared to have your mind obliterated from some Mincecore? While not coining the term, or starting the style, Canada's bastard offspring of Agathocles, Archagathus have perfected the art of mincing. Is that wrong to say that I like Archagathus better than Agathocles? Sure, Agathocles has been pumping out non-stop quality releases for 20+ years, but Archagathus just rip it more in my opinion. Simple at times, but the energy here cannot be mistaken. Mincing mayhem that keeps getting faster and more intense with every release. Also, they're following in their grindfather's tradition by pumping out releases at an alarming rate. One of my favorites, hands down. Grab that shit!

Well, not really. It's along the same lines though sort of.
What we have here is the much sought after (or maybe not?) Cyclops seven inches, Second Son Of Poseidon and Cradle Of Man's Mistakes. For those not in the know, Cyclops was a project of Eric Wood's before Man Is The Bastard (along with Neanderthal). I'm not sure at what point in time Wood was doing this project, but I think it's post-Neanderthal and pre-MITB. That's pretty much the extent of what I know about this, besides the labels they were put out on. So if you have more info, feel free to comment and let me and the people know. Now don't go into listening to this expecting an epic skull-crushing record along the lines of Neanderthal/MITB. Not to say that it isn't, but it's very different and very similar to MITB at the same time. I would probably say a more "prog" version of MITB. If that makes sense. You'll have to check it out to know what I mean.

In Disgust from San Jose, plays some ripping fast grind/power violence. It's hard to believe that just three guys can put forth such energy, but they do. They kind of have that "Crossed Out" vibe. What that is exactly, I couldn't explain, but after you give it a listen, you'll know what I mean. One of the best newer bands out there. They also keep pumping out the releases at a blinding speed. If you like them, you should definitely grab their newer shit (San Jose Oldies Vol. 1, In Disgust Vs. Godstomper Live On KFJC, and the Massgrave split).
